About the Role

As a senior art director at Melon, you will work with cross-functional teams to create, enhance, and optimize experiences and digital interfaces. A successful candidate should love creating beautiful and functional designs, enjoy having opportunities to think strategically, and be detail-oriented. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Be empathetic and create thoughtful designs for specific audiences

  • Eloquently talk through designs and design choices with team members and clients 

  • Create mood boards, concept sketches, comps, design decks, style guides, storyboards and other digital deliverables that can be shared with clients

  • Be self-driven, overseeing the creative direction and deliverables for various clients and self-managing workload and timelines

  • Be a positive contributor to team and company culture 

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of art direction and/or visual design experience 

  • A strong understanding of typography, layout, hierarchy, and imagery

  • Experience developing design patterns and libraries and applying brand styles to design work

  • Solid communicator possessing strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Flexibility to multi-task and work with project managers and engineering teams to deliver work on-time and within budget

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite 

  • Possess a portfolio of work showing a strong sense of design and creativity. 

Preferred Skills

  • Have a strong understanding of UX and an ability to work with UX team members

  • Have experience working in an Agile framework

  • Have experience creating beautiful and useful designs for commerce experiences

  • Have experience with prototyping tools (Sketch, Invision, Axure)
